Having grown up in regional Victoria spending most of my time climbing trees and watching movies, it seems only fitting that I should end up as a video producer with a love of the outdoors.
Since graduating from Deakin University’s Bachelor of Media Arts in the early 2000’s, I furthered my education in all things cinematography while working at Lemac Film and Digital, Melbourne.
A few years later, life took a ‘Side Trip’ when I discovered rock climbing, met a girl and moved away to Christchurch, New Zealand, for a two year ‘apprenticeship in climbing’ where I absorbed myself in the sport and all that I was able to learn in that time. At the end of this journey, I put my filmmaking knowledge to use and made a documentary called ‘Beyond The Plains’ about the Canterbury climbing scene. It screened at the NZ Mountain Film Festival and was used for fundraising events in Australia for Christchurch earthquake relief in 2011.
We had moved back to Melbourne in 2010 and I returned to work at Lemac Film and Digital, taking on a role that involved camera assisting, shooting, editing, testing, content creation, training, marketing, and much more. After a few years back in Melbourne, I made the foray into the world of freelance video production and haven’t looked back.
